Walk/Bike Week is almost here!
Starting this Friday (Sept. 28), events celebrating walking and biking will start taking place all over Newton, as part of Newton’s Walk/Bike Week. Many local groups have planned events and programs.
You can earn discounts at local businesses through the Green Streets Initiative if you walk, bike, or ride public transit, bike in a convoy this Friday morning with the Bicycle & Pedestrian Task Force, participate in a bike survey with Bike Newton, hike the aqueduct trails with Newton Conservators (Call Henry Finch at 617-964-4488), go to Pellegrini Park in Nonantum for a bicycle fun day, take a guided history walk through Upper Falls, or dance from morning to night and check your bike’s condition at Newtonville’s first village day… phew! And we’ve only listed the events through Saturday! Go to the official Walk/Bike Week site for more information and links to the wealth of walking & biking events throughout the city. Hope to see you!
