Join us for a group ride as two great local biking advocacy organizations — Biking Brookline and Bike Newton — team up for a nice loop that includes Waltham, Watertown, Cambridge, Allston as well as Newton and Brookline, the Auburndale Cove, and a good piece of the Charles River Bike Path. Meet at the Newton Free Library on Homer St. in Newton Center — be there by 10:00 am. The Brookline group will meet us at the library and then we’ll proceed west on Commonwealth Ave. to the Cove. There will a stop in Watertown by the Charles River for a picnic lunch, so bring a snack or lunch with you.
This is a family-friendly, “no-rider-left-behind” ride and all ages are invited, but all young children must be accompanied by an adult. Bike helmets are required. 23 miles round trip. Total ride duration should be 3-4 hours. Be sure to check Bikenewton.org for last-minute changes.
