Sustainable Transportation At Northeastern (STAN) and the Boston Cyclist’s Union are collaborating yet again for another Fall Bike Tour! The ride will be led by BCU board member and professor, Peter Furth. We will learn about bike infrastructure along the way with a focus especially on Cambridge’s new Broadway bike way. This will be a fun, informative and relaxed ride open to everyone! Reach out to us if you need a Bluebike for this event.
Meet in front of the Newton Free Library on Homer St. in Newton Center, and we’ll leave at 9:00am. We’ll bike 7 miles and meet up with Prof. Furth and the STAN/BCU group at the Renaissance Parking Garage Bluebikes Station, at the corner of Columbus Ave. and Melnea Cass Blvd. We will ride with the STAN/BCU group to various points in Cambridge for approx. 1 hour — or longer if the group would like — at which point we can split off and head back to Newton.
This is a family-friendly, “no-rider-left-behind” ride and all ages are invited, but all young children must be accompanied by an adult. Bike helmets are required. Approx 20-25 miles total. Total ride duration about 3 hrs. Be sure to check bikenewton.org for any last-minute changes.
