Sunday Morning   8/28, 9:30am we are going to Drumlin Farm in Lincoln.  We'll be leaving from Star Market on Austin St. in Newtonville.   The ride should be 18 miles round trip. and Monday evening, 8/29, 6:00pm we are going on the Heartbreak Hill-Chestnut Hill Reservoir loop of 6.5 miles.   A fairly short ride, but there a couple of hills.  This ride will leave from the Newton Library on Homer St. in Newton Center. A group ride to attend the opening day of Honk Fest 2022 in Davis Sq. Join us for a nice harvest-time ride past the farms and fields of Needham, Dover and South Natick.  Starting at the Newton Main Library in Newton Center, we’ll make a loop that winds through several scenic back roads and trails, and along parts of the Charles River, with a few stops here and there to check out the view. Join us for a nice fall ride through the countryside and back roads of Lexington and Belmont.  We'll hit parts of the Minuteman trail in Lexington and some of the Charles River trail, with a few stops here and there to check out the view. This is not a long ride, but you'll get some good exercise going up and down those hills on Commonwealth Ave. and Beacon St.,  as we ride from the Library on Homer St., around the Chestnut Hill Reservoir at Cleveland Circle, then back to Newton Center before heading to the Library. Group Ride: The Noodle Ride – Now Sunday at 1PM

Join us for our first group ride of the year!  And this is a special ride we are calling the “Noodle Ride”.  We’re going to tie swimming noodles (or similar) to our bikes to help make drivers aware of the new Pedestrian and Biking Safety Law that was passed by the Mass. The classic Chinatown ride is back!   A nice ride along the Charles River, past the Public Gardens and through a bit of downtown Boston to Chinatown for a bite to eat.  We'll go for a taste of Dim Sum at the large and airy Empire Garden, or similar venue.  Riders have the option of either biking back to Newtonville with the ride leader or putting their bikes on the commuter rail from nearby South Station.  An outbound Framingham/Worcester train leaves at 1:00 pm. Ride Cancelled: Earth Day Ride to the Cove

Newton celebrates Earth Day Sunday April 23, 12:00-4:00pm at Newton City Hall.  This festival event is presented by Green Newton: full details here.   Due to rain, the festival will be located indoors at the War Memorial Auditorium, with some activities still outdoors.  Unfortunately, the group bike ride to the Auburndale Cove has been cancelled.
