Join us for a pleasant ride around the Chestnut Hill Reservoir; a loop starting at the Library in Newton Center, heading out on Commonwealth Ave. to Cleveland Circle, around the reservoir and returning on Beacon Street. A scenic ride, especially if you like the challenge of a couple of hills! Meet in front of the Newton Main Library on Homer St. in Newton Center, and we’ll leave promptly at 6pm. This is a family-friendly, “no-rider-left-behind” ride and all ages are invited, but all young children must be accompanied by an adult. It's Father's Day -- the day we'd traditionally be cycling in the Tour de Newton. However, the 2021 Tour de Newton has been re-scheduled for September 19 this year (stay tuned for details), but this ride will start getting you in shape for that! We will follow the route of the 2018 Tour de Newton "Contra tour", through many of the villages of Newton. An infinity-shaped loop starting in Newtonville, stretching west to Auburndale and east to the Chestnut Hill reservoir . Meet in front of the Star Market on Austin St. in Newtonville, and we’ll leave at 10:00 am. On the way back, the group is invited to stop at Pho Viet on Langley Rd for tasty Banh Mi sandwiches. Join us for a Bike Newton WinterFEST ride on Sunday at 4PM! This will be a short loop 3 mile loop from Newton Centre to Newton Highlands and back. This is part of Newton Community Pride's first annual WinterFEST next weekend! See below for more details on the ride and the weekend.
