Join us for a spring bike ride on Sunday, April 21st as we celebrate Earth Day 2024 at Newton North High School, presented by Newton's own incredible environmental organization Green Newton. There will be all sorts of activities, information, exhibits, music and fun from 12 noon to 4pm. The group ride, led by Bike Newton will start at 1:00 pm, leaving from the Walnut St. parking lot. We'll go along the Charles River bike path through Waltham, through the Auburndale Cove, and return on Commonwealth Ave. to the Earth Day celebration at NNHS. It should be a beautiful day for a spring bike ride along the Charles River and through Cambridge to the Lilypad to see an afternoon concert of "Woodwind Chamber Music With a Contemporary Jazz Twist" presented by TRIchrO. The Lilypad is located at 1353 Cambridge Street Cambridge, MA, 02139, in Inman Square. Join us for an excellent group ride to the 46th Annual Wake up the Earth Festival in Jamaica Plain, taking place in the Southwest Corridor Park. After taking a rest and getting a bite to eat there, we'll continue for a tour through Arnold Arboretum, and then head back to Newton. You'll see how easy it is -- and fun -- to get to Jamaica Plain visit a cool outdoor festival, have a picnic and go to the Arboretum -- all without a car! Join us for a biking tour of the 2024 Newton Porchfest. We'll start at the Library on Homer St. and visit a number of bands in Waban, Aurburndale and Lower Falls. The whole tour is scheduled for about 5 hours; riders may bail out early and head home if they need to, or meet up during the ride at one of the stops. Feel free to bring lunch, drinks, snacks.
