A loop from the Library via Parker St, Dedham St and Nahanton St to the Newton Community Farm (just a ride-by) and then through Nahanton Park and returning to the Library via Winchester and Walnut Sts. And we'll take in a little of Crystal Lake as well. Meet in front of the Newton Main library on Homer St. in Newton Center, and we’ll leave promptly at 6pm. Your chance to learn about the design and timeline Mass Department of Transportation is holding three public meetings to discuss the proposed reconstruction of Highland Ave in Needham and Needham and Winchester Streets in Newton. The project would stretch roughly two miles, from Webster Street in Needham to Route 9 in Newton. It would widen sidewalks, improve intersections, add raised bikes lanes and crossing signals and rehabilitate the bridge over the Charles River. This will be your chance to see the designs, ask questions and provide input. It is the chamber's understanding that the Jan. 10 meeting will focus more on the Needham portion [...]
