Join us for a cycling tour to Jamaica Plain through Newton , Brookline and West Roxbury, passing through the Arnold Arboretum and returning via Jamaica Pond and some of the Jamaicaway bike path. On the way back, we can stop at JP Licks in JP Center for some ice cream! Meet in front of the Newton Main library on Homer St. in Newton Center, and we’ll leave at 1:00pm. Visit a museum on your bike! Join us for a ride to the Rose Art Museum on the Brandeis University campus in Waltham. We'll ride down Comm. Ave in Newton and through the Auburndale Cove, and South St., and on the return, through the Mt. Feake Cemetery and more of the Blue Heron Trail on the Charles River. The Museum opens at 11am, and admission is free, but you should register beforehand. As a group we can decide how long to stay at the museum, but probably something like an hour. Due to the forecast for rain May 20, we've postponed this ride to next week, May 27th! Join us for a ride to Jamaica Plain to the headquarters of BikesNotBombs (284 Amory St., JP) where we will join in and ride with their monthly Unity in Community Ride which is planned to go 11am to 1pm. The Tour de Natick is a family friendly bike ride held each Father’s Day on the Natick Common by the Rotary Club of Natick - this year's date is Sunday, June 18th. The route is a 6-mile loop leaving the Common at 11 AM and returning for a complimentary lunch immediately following. The Tour de Natick raises money for the Rotary Club of Natick’s charitable foundation to benefit Natick Scholars. Each year the Rotary Club of Natick gives away over $10,000 in scholarships to graduating Natick High School Seniors. Bike Newton, in conjunction with JazzBoston.org and the Boston Harbor Islands National Park invite you to join us either Saturday Aug. 12 or Sunday Aug. 13 for a trip to Long Wharf in Boston and then to George's Island to hear "Wild Music". We will leave Newtonville at 10am, bike to Long Wharf and arrive around 11am, then board a ferry (free with pre-registration) at 12 noon for Georges Island. We'll be going by Fresh Pond and Spy Pond as well, returning to Newton through Waltham. Meet at the Star Market on Austin St. in Newtonville, and we’ll leave at 9:30 am. Bike Newton Group Rides head to Providence, RI to try out the East Bay Bike Path! Meet at the East Bay Bike Path Public Parking at 9:30am. This is the Veterans Memorial Parkway parking lot. We encourage car-pooling; the lot can get crowded. We'll be travelling through East Providence, Warren, Bristol and Barrington. Bring a picnic lunch, or buy something en route. Bike Newton invites you to join Livable Streets' Tour de Streets 2023 group ride and day of festivities on Saturday Sept. 9th, 9:30 am to 2pm. The LivableStreets Alliance is a great organization which "envisions a world where streets are safe, vibrant public spaces that connect people to the places where they live, work and play." You can join the Tour de Streets 2023 as a rider or a volunteer. The ride starts and ends at the Charles River Speedway in Brighton.
