A nice ride to the Decordova Museum in Lincoln.  Bring a picnic lunch, or have a snack at their Café.  Please note that indoor exhibits at the museum are temporarily closed due to construction, however the Cafe, the grounds/outdoor sculpture park and of course the gift shop are all open!    Note that it is FREE to tour the grounds (normally $14/adult) if you arrive by bicycle!  And, how about an optional stop at Dairy Queen on the way home?  Meet in front of the Star Market on Austin St. in Newtonville, and we’ll leave at 10:00 AM.   This is a family-friendly, “no-rider-left-behind” [...]

Join us for a special ride we are calling the “Tour de PictureUsNewton“ on Saturday, September 8th at 3:00 PM.  Newton's local arts non-profit,  Newton Community Pride (NCP),  has produced a public art exhibit called  #PictureUsNewton and we are sharing in the fun. #PictureUsNewton consistsof a number of works of art done by local artists, which have been placed in 12 locations all around the city of Newton.    NCP invites you to check out these public art murals and invite you to use them as “selfie stations”  where you can take photos (with bikes, of course!).   Photos taken at any and all “selfie stations” can optionally be added to the NCP online Community Photo Album filled with faces of our [...]

Group Ride – Arrow St. Arts in Harvard Square

Join us for a ride along the Charles River to Harvard Square to check out the new Arrow Street Arts center at 2 Arrow St. in Cambridge.  It is grand-opening week for this newly renovated community arts building, just a few blocks down Mt. Auburn St. from Harvard Square.  There will be live performances of all sorts all day long, including a New England Jazz Collaborative Big Band concert at 2pm.  Some of us will be staying for the 2pm concert, while other riders may wish to head back to the Charles River, perhaps stop by the river's edge for a picnic lunch,  then [...]
